New and Newly Noticed– by Midori Coming year after year to Japan every June for ICEP has given me an interesting opportunities to notice bits and pieces of what’s new in the country since the previous project or realizing something that probably was always there but noticing it for the first time. I have two … Continue reading New and Newly Noticed– by Midori / 新しいこと、新しく気づいたこと-五嶋みどり

We finished the tour! -Mana

With the final performance at Oji Hall on June 19, the ICEP 2019 Japan tour has now concluded. On behalf of the MUSIC SHARING organization, I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to all parties who supported, participated, and attended the various presentations during the last … Continue reading 御礼とブログの続き!/We finished the tour! -Mana

Reflecting on ICEP Vietnam by Midori   After a fortnight of being back in the US, enjoying my self-prepared chicken paprikash and quinoa, I have a chance finally to reflect a bit on the past two weeks in Vietnam. Our stay in Hanoi started with much peace and quiet time to concentrate on our work. …

Leaving Ho Chi Minh /

From Charlotte:   We are leaving the land of phó and motorbikes, and there are so many impressions to attempt to sum up. We’ve met so many people with bright open faces and smiles, though many of them deal with extremely difficult life circumstances. During our presentations, we had to try to play many roles …

Masala vs. Phở /

Masala vs. Phở Blog by Jendrik So different but also so similar - That is probably the most accurate and yet meaningless comparison between India and Vietnam. When I look back to ICEP India 2017, I think immediately about the extremes we encountered, which were outwardly visible on the streets and in everyday life. Examples: …

What’s in My Suitcase, and Why Two?

What’s in My Suitcase, and Why Two? Blog entry from Midori   I usually travel very light. What I need during a concert tour is very limited beyond my concert dress and the violin. A single suitcase that I can check-in is all I bring. However, for ICEP, things are a bit different, of course, … Continue reading What’s in My Suitcase, and Why Two?
